Space Federation

Space Federation is a first-person space-combat game for the Commodore 64. You fly a Federation gunship and see everything from inside its cockpit.

The enemy threatens the Federation, and you have to fight your way through eight sectors of hostile space to its home world. The sectors run from the Outer Rim through the Kessar Belt, Vega Gate, Ice Fields, Nebula Deep, Helios Run and Drax Corridor to Enemy Home, each with its own planet. To clear a sector you have to destroy a set number of enemy ships before you jump through hyperspace to the next one.

You have three lasers. The rapid laser fires a stream of quick bolts. The heavy laser needs a steady aim to charge, then fires one powerful beam. The pulse laser fires a plasma bolt that you have to aim ahead of a moving target, you can shift laser beam with F7. Against you are five enemy types: fighters, fast interceptors, armored heavy fighters, huge battleships, and saucer aces that teleport around the screen. Every hit you land wins back some energy for your shields and hull.
